Author: Ron Currie
Picador, 2007
Interesting dystopia about what the incontestable death of God (disguised in the body of a Sudanese woman) would do to humankind. It is quite wild and maybe the dystopic predictions are not always probable. I don't think Currie is trying to be just that though and his novel is wonderfully unpretentious, tongue-in-cheek, straight up fun. Even though I find myself choking on my laughs at times, which I think Currie did try to make me do. Definitely worth the time and effort.
