It's been a while since I enjoyed this well-crafted historical novel and for anyone who has a thing for mad women in attics, London slum and sly, sinister men, this is well worth a read. From a genre that has exploded in recent years, and quite often aims for the bodice-ripping side of things, this is a gem!
