Title: Schott's Original Miscellany
Author: Ben Schott
Bloomsbury, 2002
This slim, but handy volume, is a goldmine for all you trivia-nerds out there. From this treasure, you can find a list of chat room acronyms, the official suppliers to the British Queen, who are portrayed on the American banknotes, all the curious deaths of Burmese kings and some choice Shakespearian insults. Among about a gazillion other tantalizingly unnecessary pieces of information. Makes a great gift and you can find it transalted too if that is more to your taste. Not suitable for monkeys (if you know what I mean by this, you are either a psychopath or a monkey.)
