This was recommended to me by my old university teacher as well as by a colleague with good taste. Thus, my expectations ran high. I should have given the novel my sole attention from the get-go, however, instead of reading several other books simultaneously. This mistake made the story seem fragmentary and hard to follow at first. Then I threw away the other stories I was reading and dedicated myself whole-heartedly to this one. Instant reward! Old age, loneliness and lost opportunities are met by youth, immortal memories and the reward of those who love. Read it!!
